Glass & space

Choosing glass for a more open bathroom.

How layout, hardware, and finished dimensions shape a custom shower enclosure.

Pale stone bathroom with a floating vanity, bronze fixtures and clear shower glass

Frameless glass can keep the bathroom visually connected, but the right layout depends on the opening. Think about the door swing, nearby fixtures, panel supports, and the way water moves through the shower.

Coordinate the finished surfaces

Glass measurements should reflect the final tile or stone surfaces. Discuss this sequence early so the enclosure is not ordered before the dimensions are reliable.

Look beyond the panel

Hardware finish, glass clarity, coatings, and maintenance requirements affect everyday use. Review samples alongside your stone and lighting choices.

Discuss water containment

A frameless enclosure should not be assumed completely watertight. Shower-head placement, thresholds, drainage, and seals all influence performance. Review the proposed layout before fabrication.

Bring the room together

Compare clear, low-iron, and satin glass examples alongside the vanity surface and hardware. Include a photograph from the bathroom entrance so we can discuss reflections and the relationship between the enclosure, mirror, and accent lighting. A useful first brief includes the finished opening, door movement, and your preferred look.

These notes are a starting point. Final product suitability and project requirements are reviewed for your specific space.
