Discreet wall and garden lighting connects a covered lanai lounge with tropical planting
Outdoor lighting inspiration for the setting around a pool or spa. Underwater fixtures are specified for the actual pool system.

Plan the light around the space.

Scintillax designs and installs pool and spa LED lighting as part of a considered outdoor setting. Underwater pool fixtures, lights around a deck and landscape accents serve different purposes and need different specifications. An inquiry can begin with a new pool, an existing light replacement or a proposed LED upgrade. We assess the actual system and establish the installation scope, compatible products and qualified trade responsibilities before confirming the work.

Start with the existing pool system.

Share pool and spa photographs, the number and positions of current lights, and any available fixture or control references. Describe whether a light has failed, the appearance you want to change or the pool is still being designed. Existing niches, mounting details, wiring and controls affect what can be considered. A fixture is selected for those conditions, rather than assuming that any LED pool light will fit.

Separate replacement, LED upgrades and new construction.

An existing fixture replacement needs a compatibility review. An LED conversion may involve more than a lamp change, depending on the installed equipment and control system. A new pool allows lighting positions and routes to be coordinated with its design. The assessment identifies the proposed work and interfaces with the pool contractor or required electrical trade before products are ordered or an installation is scheduled.

Choose light appearance with the whole outdoor room.

Consider the view from the house, steps into the water and the places where people sit after sunset. Discuss a restrained white-light setting or color-capable fixtures only where the selected system supports them. Brightness, glare and control groups need to relate to nearby path, garden and lanai lights. The intended atmosphere guides selection while the actual fixture and system establish the available functions.

Define electrical work and future access.

Pool and spa lighting requires products appropriate to the actual underwater installation. Electrical connections, protection, bonding, grounding and any required permits or licensed-trade coordination are reviewed for the project by the responsible qualified trade. The proposal defines responsibilities and service access. This consultation is for system assessment and professional installation; a fixture reference alone cannot establish that the existing electrical arrangement is suitable.

Connect the pool to its surroundings.

Pathway fixtures can define the approach to the pool, while a lanai accent can keep the seating area comfortable. These outdoor fixtures do not replace underwater pool lights. Review proposed concrete work, planting, irrigation and routing early so the different layers can be coordinated. Include the whole backyard in your photographs as well as close details of the pool and current lighting.

Prepare for the consultation and aftercare.

Bring your city, project timeline, system references and a short description of the work you want. Tell us about access restrictions, planned pool repairs and any deck work happening at the same time. Product availability, installation sequence, operation and maintenance guidance are confirmed for the selected equipment. Pricing follows the system review and agreed scope rather than a universal replacement price.

Discuss pool lighting

Before you begin

Your questions, considered.

Start with these planning details, then discuss the requirements of your own space.

Do pool lights and pool-deck lights require different products?

Yes. Underwater pool and spa lighting needs products and installation details suitable for that specific use. Deck, garden and pathway fixtures are separate applications and must be selected for their own exposure.

Can an existing pool light be replaced with an LED light?

Compatibility depends on the existing fixture or niche, wiring, transformer and controls. Share equipment labels and photographs so the proposed replacement and required electrical work can be reviewed.

Can underwater lights be coordinated with the surrounding garden?

Yes. Discuss pool and spa lighting alongside deck, step and garden lighting to balance the evening view. Existing equipment, control compatibility and qualified trade responsibilities are confirmed before work begins.

Bring photographs, your project location and the details you would like to discuss.
